Pizza + Brussels Sprouts

Char means flavor, right? Homemade pizza + Brussels sprouts = an easy weeknight dinner. I'm in!


This is a quick dinner to put together for a weeknight and tastes DELICIOUS!


Pizza recipe comes from How Sweet Eats. I made it almost exactly as the recipe states, except that I put cheese all over the crust and didn't leave the 1" border that it said to do--hence why my pizza has char marks on the edges from excess cheese. Oops. I also added a many extra tomatoes sliced as thinly as I could get from the mandolin. The puff pastry is very delicious, but it doesn't always sit well with my stomach. I may try a traditional crust next time since the garlic oil, cheese, and tomatoes made a great combination. I also heated up a jar of Rao's marinara sauce to dip the pizza in. My husband opted out of that part; he think's it's weird. I get it, but I love any excuse to use tomato sauce.


Brussels Sprouts: With puff pastry comes the need for veggies. Balance is good. This recipe is from Once Upon a Chef, and is also a home-run. My suggestion would be to lower the temperature. My sprouts browned very quickly before the bigger pieces could get as soft as I'd like them. The flavor was fantastic though.


This felt like a complete meal and was a great weeknight addition. That’s it. Try it out! One plate. One meal.
