Oatmeal and delicious toppings made in a few short minutes.
Easy to prep, easy store, and easy to cook. Healthy and delicious -- perfect for everyday breakfast.
This meal references a single recipe, but can be made lots of different ways depending on your tastes.
This blog post from Wholefully suggests eight different ways to make oatmeal cups. As I discover combinations, I'll add them to my list below. You can meal prep different ones for the week or make a bunch of the same type. Most of the recipes include pantry staples, so it's easy to put together a bunch of these quickly.
I used these Mason jam jars. They are the perfect size for 1/2 cup of oats and the toppings. I like the rounded jars and fun designs on the glass, but any 8oz glass jar would work well.
To make:
Build jars with oats and flavorings of your choice.
When ready to eat, add boiling water to the lower lip line (go higher if you want it less thick.*)
Once you add water, stir and put lid back on.
Let sit for a few minutes and enjoy!
*I like my oatmeal very thick. Add more water or cream if you'd like it runnier.
That’s it. Enjoy your oats! One cup. One meal.

Base for Each:
1/2 cup rolled oats (use food processor to blend until finer)
1/2 tsp chia seeds
1/2 tsp ground flax seeds
Dash of salt
Dash of brown sugar
Different Combinations:
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip
1 tbsp mini chocolate chips
1 tbsp peanut butter powder
Mocha Chocolate Chip
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp instant espresso powder
Pineapple Coconut
1/3 cup dried pineapple
2 tbsp unsweetened coconut flakes
Strawberry Flax
1/3 cup dried strawberries
1 tbsp ground flax (additional from the base)
